Your pets safety and your satisfaction with our service is our top priority. We believe you and your pets deserve the best at all times, and we are fully insured and qualified to a high standard.
How it Works
You decide on the service you require and contact us with the details. If your service is a dog walk or pet visit, we will arrange a free consultation at your home to discuss your requirements. We will then provide the specific service as agreed, and an invoice will be provided with details of payment.
For dog walks, the dog will be collected by car, and taken to a local park. The walks last for the full time specified (e.g. one hour), so you can be confident that you are getting the maximum walk for your money. Your dog will have opportunities for lots of fun on the walk, socialising, running and enjoying themselves with other dogs in the group. After the walk your dog will be delivered back home, happy, refreshed and exercised. We will always towel down your dog and wipe their paws if they are muddy or wet and we would check your dog’s water bowl before we leave in case it needs to be topped up. And of course we will leave your home securely locked.
Jess and Aaron are the trustworthy and friendly team behind Max walks. We live in the Irby area of the Wirral, and provide services to all the surrounding areas including Pensby, Heswall, Thingwall, Greasby and Arrowe Park.
We are qualified to degree level, and have diplomas in dog walking and pet sitting, and both have completed a vetenary assistant course. We hold pet first aid certificates, are DBS checked (police checked) and are fully insured including Public Liability, care and custodial (liability to animals) and loss of keys. We like to attend dog seminars, courses and workshops to keep our skills and knowledge up to date. More importantly is the many years of experience we hold.
We have been dog owners all our lives and have experience with many different breeds. We have worked with a charity called Protecting Preloved Border Collies since 2013, and have fostered many dogs, saving them from being put to sleep. We also attend fundraising events and help out with transport and adoption of the rescue dogs. All of the dogs we have fostered have gone on to find loving forever homes. Max helps to rehabilitate these dogs by teaching them how to play, and building up their confidence in new situations.
Safety is of the upmost importance and due to this we have an air conditioned vehicle with the highest safety rating, and each dog is crated separately whilst travelling. Great care is taken to make sure dogs are kept at a healthy temperature and fresh water is provided at the end of each walk. We also carry towels to dry the dogs on wet and muddy days. We carry a pet first aid kit on every walk.
We have several different walking locations all chosen for their space, safety and stimulation opportunities for the dogs. All the areas are away from busy roads, livestock or other localised dangers. Dogs are only let off the lead if it is completely safe to do so and with the owner’s consent, they must also show a strong recall. Whilst we like to allow the dogs to play and have fun, their safety is always top priority. Group walks usually have a maximum of four dogs per walker to ensure all dogs get the correct attention and care. Solo walks are also available for dogs who prefer one to one attention.
