Hi I’m Demi, I’m 22 and own Powell’s Pups.

Not only am I insured I’m also qualified and experienced in:
> Canine and Feline Nutrition
> Canine and Feline First Aid
> Positive Reinforcement Training – Thanks to Beastly Thoughts Professional Dog Services
> 4 Years Experience with working with dogs of all breeds and ages.

Powell’s Pups is my idea of what I would want for my own dog when I was working long days. (Now my own dog Pepper the Cocker Spaniel comes to work with me, she hangs out in the car.)

I cater to you and your dogs needs;

Have a reactive dog? Not a problem. I train and volunteer for a local dog behaviourist whom I have learned a lot from. I have clients on my books who are severely reactive but they’re great dogs and I enjoy the challenge they give me and the experience I gain from them.

Have a ‘naughty’ dog? In my eyes there is no such thing as a naughty dog, just a frustrated, bored or scared dog. I only use positive reinforcement methods of handling. If you see me standing still in the middle of the street with a dog bouncing on the end of the lead. I’m just letting them make their own mind up of when they would actually like to go for a walk and not for a pull.

Have a quiet dog? Some dogs I’ve started out walking don’t really feel comfortable walking outside their boundaries. This is when I introduce my knowledge of enrichment activities. I’ve attended scentwork courses and play workshops to better understand how a dog gets enjoyment through life. Especially if they don’t just want to ‘go for a walk’.

Have a puppy? Let’s give it the best start! I can recommend local classes to take the puppy too, events for socialisation. I can help with the basics, the main ones for me are coming back, coping around other dogs and being a joy to walk.

I do have to say that unfortunately due to my small stature and my own strength, I can not walk any dog larger than a Labrador. My insurers have insisted that if anything happens to a dog in my care that I know I could not handle I would not be covered.

You can contact me in various ways, by phone, email or Facebook.
